Russell Denness

Group Chief Executive and Chairman of Operating Group of Companies

Russell joined Croudace in 1984 following graduation with a degree in Construction Management. He started as an assistant site manager in the Construction Division gaining a wide experience of commercial and housing developments; he became a Business Development Manager in the Partnership Housing Division in 1994; was promoted to Sales Manager in 1999 and then Sales Director of Croudace Homes in 2001. Russell was made Commercial Director in 2003 adding responsibilities for planning, design and engineering to his portfolio. In January 2006 Russell was appointed Managing Director of Croudace Homes Ltd, and then Group Chief Executive in January 2014.

Russell is a Chartered Builder and a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Russell enjoys all sports, but now feels only fit enough to actually play golf! He also enjoys reading, gardening and DIY.


Allan Carey

Deputy Group Chief Executive; Managing Director, Croudace Homes (South Thames); Managing Director, Croudace Portland

Allan qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1982 with Price Waterhouse before moving into industry where he held senior financial roles with a recruitment consultant and an advertising and marketing consultancy.

He joined Croudace in 1988 as Group Finance Director with responsibilities for Accounts, Human Resources, IT, Health and Safety and Office Administration. In 2005 he was given responsibility for Strategic Land and became Managing Director of Croudace Strategic when the Company was established in 2006. In 2010 he also assumed Board responsibility for Croudace Portland, and became Deputy Chief Executive in 2014.

In his spare time Allan thoroughly enjoys learning to dance, going to the theatre/cinema and (watching) rugby.


Richard Holmans

Managing Director, Croudace Homes (North Thames)

Richard joined Croudace as a trainee surveyor in 1977 after leaving school. He became a Contracts Manager in the Construction Division in the 1980’s, working on a wide range of projects including Local Authority housing, schools, industrial buildings and offices.

In the early 1990’s Richard became a Business Development Manager securing and co-ordinating housing contracts with housing associations. The role involved co-ordinating scheme feasibilities, budgets, land buying, planning and detailed design to enable a full service to be provided to clients.

When Croudace Homes in Partnership was established in 2004 providing affordable housing for Housing Associations, Richard was appointed General Manager and then Commercial Director in 2005, before being appointed Managing Director of Croudace Partnerships in September 2007. In 2014 he became Managing Director of Croudace Homes (North Thames) heading up the Letchworth office.

Richard is a keen gardener. He also enjoys cycling and tinkering with cars.
